Lõputöö keskmes on 1739. aastal ilmunud esimene eestikeelne nahkköites Piibel.
Minu lõputöö eesmärk oli konserveerida Piibel ning koostada selle eksponeerimise juhised. Töö koosneb kahest osast – praktilisest ja kirjalikust.
Kirjalik pool jaguneb kolmeks. Esimeses osas annan ülevaate Piibliga seonduvast, teises kirjeldan konserveerimistööd ja uuringuid, kolmandas uurin raamatute eksponeerimise probleeme ning koostan Piiblile eksponeerimise juhised.
Konserveerimistööde tulemusel muutus Piibli seisund stabiilseks ning see on taas kasutatav ja eksponeeritav.
The focus of my final project is the first leather-bound Bible in Estonian, published in 1739. The aim of my project was to conserve the Bible and create guidelines for its exhibition. The work consists of two parts: practical and written.
The written part is divided into three sections. The first section provides an overview of the history related to the Bible, the second describes the conservation work and research, and the third examines the challenges of book exhibition and presents the guidelines for displaying the Bible.
As a result of the conservation work, the Bible’s condition has stabilized, and it is now suitable for use and exhibition.
