Lõputöö teema on 19. sajandi algusest pärineva polükroomse viimistlusega käsitöölaua restaureerimine ja konserveerimine. Uurin käsitöö ja käsitöölaua rolle nimetatud ajastu naise igapäevaelus, et mõista, kuidas seal peegeldub ajastu kultuur. Töö on tellimuspõhine – eesmärk on muuta laud funktsionaalselt kasutatavaks, säilitades eseme ajalooline väärtus, lähtudes kliendi soovidest.
Kasutan konserveerimis- ja restaureerimistehnikaid ning teen laboratoorseid uuringuid eseme materjalide tuvastamiseks. Lõpptulemusena valmib kliendi soovidele vastav, igapäeva elus kasutatav laud koos ajaloolise ülevaatega, mis keskendub laua funktsioonile kindla ajastu naise elus.
The topic of my final project is the restoration and conservation of a polychrome-finished handicraft table dating from the early 19th century. I explore the role of handicrafts and the handicraft table in the everyday life of women of that era to better understand how the culture of the time is reflected in the object. The work is a commissioned project — the aim is to make the table functionally usable while preserving its historical value, in accordance with the client’s wishes.
I apply conservation and restoration techniques and conduct laboratory analyses to identify the materials used in the object. The result is a table suited for daily use that meets the client’s expectations, accompanied by a historical overview focusing on the table’s role in the life of a woman from that period.
