Lõputöö sai tõuke vaatluspraktikalt, kus me teiste tudengitega sattusime Aivar Roosaare mööblikogu pildistama. Hiljem pilte analüüsides seadsin endale eesmärgi, ma tahan osata hästi pildistada, tahan mõista tehnikat ja valguse peegeldust.

Kirjalikus osas tutvustan põgusalt, kes on Aivar. Teen selgeks ning kirjeldan, mida täpsemalt on tarvis pildistamise tööprotsessiks. Analüüsin, kuidas pildistada eset, antud juhul tooli, et seda saaks hiljem foto põhjal uurida/võrrelda.
Koostöös meediaosakonna tudengi Paul Poderatiga näitan ka võimalust 3D pildistamise näol.

Praktilise osana viibisin Meeksi Kükka karjamõisas ning digitaliseerisin õpitud oskuste abil Aivari mööblikogu.

The idea of this final paper came from an observation practice, where other students and I were taking pictures of Aivar Roosaar’s furniture collection. While analyzing the picture taken, I set myself a goal to learn how to take pictures efficiently, understand the technology needed and how light is reflected on the object. Also, I came to an understanding that while
studying restoration at Pallas there is always a need to make a report about the object, with before-after pictures. I think that high-quality images give a better idea of the restored object so I wished to collaborate further with Aivar.
The purpose of this final paper is to understand how to photograph a chair so it could be digitized and used for further research. The basis was Aivar’s wish to make a system and organize the furniture collection. Before I started experimenting with how to photograph an object, I made clear what tools were needed and how to use them. While analyzing the digitization, I realized that light is a mysterious aspect of photography. It has so many facets,
so it still is not completely clear to me yet.
In the process of this paper, a guide was developed, which contains requirements for the digitization of furniture. It became clear how to take a picture of the chair so that the object can be studied as digitized material later. I also managed to collaborate with Paul Poderat, a student of the media design department, in the form of 3D photography. I think in the long run it makes more sense to focus on the nuances of 3D photography, I see a lot of
potential in this.
Digitized images can be used in different ways. For example, one option is to createan Internet platform where objects can be compared and studied in more detail. The website could be used as a learning tool.
