Lõputöö sisuks on Kuressaare piiskopilinnuse kolme ruumi seinadekoori detailne ja ajastukohane kujundamine. Mõõtkavas üks kahele valmib kartoonile seinakompositsioon „elupuu“. Piiskopi eluruumide ülejäänud lahendused valmivad kavanditena.
Kristlasena äratas projekt minus huvi, sest saan uurida keskaegsete sakraalhoonete seintel kasutatud dekoori ja sümboolikat, mille stiilitunnuste põhjal teostan oma kavandid.
Lõputöö kirjalikus osas tutvustan Kuressaare piiskopilinnuse ajalugu ja võrdlen seda piirkonna teiste ordulinnustega.
The content of the final project is the detailed and period-appropriate design of the wall decor of the three rooms of the Kuressaare bishop’s castle. A wall composition “tree of life” is created on carton in a scale of one to two. The rest of the solutions for the bishop’s residence are completed as designs.
As a Christian, the project aroused my interest, because I can study the decor and symbolism used on the walls of medieval sacred buildings, based on the stylistic features of which I make my designs.
In the written part of the final project, I present the history of the bishop’s castle in Kuressaare and compare it with other order castles in the region.
