Lõputöö eesmärk on laiendada taftingtehnoloogiat rõivakunsti valdkonda, tuginedes taftingu võimalustele ja eripärale. Peamiselt valmistatakse selles tehnoloogias vaipu, mis on oma olemuselt rasked ja paksud. Uurin materjaliga katsetades, kui palju on võimalik selles tehnoloogias piire nihutada, et tulemus oleks rõivakangale iseloomulik ja vormiv.
Ülerõivaste loomiseks teen valiku kanganäidistest, kus teostamisel katsetan taftimiseks ebatraditsioonilisi materjale ja meetodeid. Fookuses on valged toonid, et tuua esile materjalide kooslust. Lisaks katsetan otse lõikesse kudumist ja erinevaid võimalusi õmblustehnoloogia rakendamisel.
Loon oversized-ülerõivaste kollektsiooni, mis annab edasi taftingu narmalisest pinnast tulenevat pehmuse ja hoituse tunnet.
The aim of the final thesis is to expand tufting technology into the field of clothing art, based on the possibilities and peculiarities of tufting. This technology mainly produces carpets that are heavy and thick in nature. When experimenting with the material, I study how much it is possible to shift the boundaries in this technology so that the result would have the characteristics of a garment fabric and could be shaped.
To create outerwear, I choose from fabric samples, where I experiment with non-traditional materials and methods for tufting. The focus is on white tones to highlight the combination of materials. Additionally, I experiment with weaving directly into the clothing pattern and with different possibilities of applying the sewing technology.
I create a collection of oversized outerwear that conveys a feeling of softness and care from the fringed surface of the tuft.
