Kõrgema Kunstikooli Pallas Lev Tolstoi 4 maja keldrikorrusel ja Eha tänava müüril olevad maalingud on aja jooksul kaotanud oma algse hiilguse. Keldrist immitsev niiskus on põhjustanud soolade ladestumise ning maaling lausa pudeneb seina küljest. Müüril olevad teosed on suures osas keskkonna mõjudele vastu pidanud, kuid inimtegevuse tagajärjel lagunenud aasta jooksul kiiremini kui eelneva kümnendi vältel.
Lõputöö eesmärk oli dokumenteerida ning restaureerida maalingud vastavalt objekti iseärasusele. Tegemist oli hoolika protsessiga säilitada need ainulaadsed maalingud, mis on jäädvustus kooli ajaloost ja kunstipärandist.
Over time, the murals on the basement floor of the Lev Tolstoi 4 building of Pallas UAS and on the wall of Eha Street have lost their original splendour. Moisture seeping from the basement has caused salt deposits, and the murals are peeling off the wall. The artworks on the Eha Street wall have largely withstood environmental influences, but due to human activity, they have deteriorated faster over the past year than in the previous decade.
The goal of my project was to document and restore the murals according to the characteristics of the object. The work process was careful and dedicated, with the goal of preserving these unique murals, which are an important part of the school’s history and artistic heritage.
