Lõputöö raames korraldasime Silver Tsäko ja Lotta Räsäneniga galeriis Pallas näituse  „Vaatamata kõigele oleme me olemas“.

As part of my final project, I organized an exhibition titled “Here, in Spite of It All” at the Gallery Pallas, alongside Silver Tsäko and Lotta Räsänen.
For me, the central theme of the exhibition was “beauty” and the body. For the exhibition, I created a series of plaster cast torsos taken directly from people titled “Beauty has no rules”, which were accompanied by written and audio recordings of their stories about being in their bodies; a series of small mother figures with children made of plasticine and bronze, titled “When Does Mother Begin? When Does Liisa?”; a painting titled “Mom Before Surgery”; a clay figure modelled after me titled “Meltdown”; and a series of embroideries and readymade objects addressing the themes of “beauty” and taboos that limit women titled “inappropriate topics”.
In the written portion of my work, I examined how “beauty” especially limits women and explored the differences between the “male gaze” and the “female gaze” in art (referencing the New Generation Dictionary).
