Lõputööks sain inspiratsiooni Vana-Kreeka mütoloogia ainsast surelikust gorgost nimega Medusa. Töö praktilises pooles kujutan modelleeritud Medusat reljeefmaalina.
My final thesis was inspired by the only mortal gorgon in ancient Greek mythology, Medusa. In the practical part of the work, I depict the modeled Medusa in A1 format as a relief painting. Medusa is depicted as a mid-relief and the surrounding background as a bas-relief to make the shape stand out. After making the frame, I used gypsum as the starting material and finished working with DAS clay. I decided to use gold leaf and mainly oil paints as finishing materials.
In the thesis I write in more detail about the ancient Greek mythological characters Athena, Poseidon, and Perseus, who were important in the formation of Medusa. I will give an overview of Medusa’s life and her character in different media. I write about the study and development of the stages of relief work, and about the emergence of Greek myths and beliefs about Greek myths.
