Urmas Aaviku lõputöö kujutab endast terasskulptuuri „Eeva õunaga“ loomist. Teose motiiv on leitud piiblist ja räägib paradiisiaias elanud Eevast, kes Jumala keelust hoolimata noppis puult keelatud vilja.
Töö eesmärk oli läbida iseseisvalt kogu protsess, mis kaasneb ühe skulptuuri loomisega ‒ alustades ideest, arendades seda visuaalselt vaadeldava kavandini, sealt edasi materjalide hankimiseni ning lõpetades esitlemisvalmis skulptuuriga. Autori arvates on kõike seda ise läbi elades ja kogedes võimalik õppida toime tulema erinevates situatsioonides tekkivate probleemidega,
mis kaasnevad tulevase skulptori ametiga.
Urmas Aavik’s final thesis is the creation of a steel sculpture “Eve with the apple”. The motif of the work is found in the Bible and tells the story of Eve, who lived in a paradise garden and picked the forbidden fruit from the tree,
despite God’s prohibition.
The aim of the work was to independently go through the whole process of creating a single sculpture – starting from an idea, developing it to the first visually observable sample, then obtaining the materials and ending with a
sculpture ready for presentation. According to the author, by having to live through and experiencing all this on his own, it is possible to learn to cope with the problems that arise in different situations that will accompany the future
profession of a sculptor.
