Tekstiiliõpingute jooksul on mind enim paelunud käsitöötehnikate tundmaõppimine ja nende kombineerimine kanga loomisel. Lõputöös uurin MultiWeave tehnika potentsiaali struktuurse vilditud materjalina, kus taustast eenduvate, ajutiselt toestatud lõimede abil kootud detailid moodustavad kangaga ühtse terviku.
MultiWeave tehnika on kangakudumismeetod, mis võimaldab luua kolmemõõtmelisi tekstiile koelõnga vedamisel ümber lõimeaasade näiteks O- või 8-kujuliselt. Kasutan villase materjali vanumisomadusi, et liikuda hõredast kudumist tiheda vildini, mida iseloomustab reljeefne ja pitsiline pind.
Saadud viltkangastest valmivad kihilised ja vormiga eksperimenteerivad ülerõivad minikollektsioonis „I Have Never Felt Like This Before“.
The most fascinating part of my studies in the Department of Textile, has been learning about handicraft techniques and combining them to create fabric. In my final thesis I study the potential of the MultiWeave technique in a structural felted material, where the details woven with temporarily supported warps protruding from the background form an integral part of the fabric.
The MultiWeave technique is a method of weaving fabric that allows the creation of three-dimensional textiles by moving a weft yarn around warp loops, for example in an O- or 8-shape. I use the fulling properties of woolen material to move from sparse material to dense felt, which is characterized by an embossed and lacy surface.
The resulting felt fabrics are made into layered and shape-experimenting outerwear in the mini collection “I Have Never Felt Like This Before”.
