„Ma armastan kontraste,“ ütles Signe. Ja ka lillaga on tal oma suhe. Ammu enne seda, kui temast sai kunstiakadeemia rektor, oli see üks ta lemmikuist. „Armastan kombinatsioone – lilla, sinepikollane, mereroheline…“
Käesolev persoonipõhine praktiline lõputöö annab ülevaate disaineri ja kliendi vahelisest koostööst. Mul on suur au, et minu kliendiks oli niivõrd põnev ja värvika karakteriga klient, nagu seda on Signe Kivi. Mulle kui disainerile on kasulik, et tuntud inimene minu toodet kannab, kuna nii jõuab see kiiremini ka laiema klientuurini.
Töö eesmärgiks oli uurida disainiprotsessi erinevaid etappe: eeltöö, prototüüpimine, arendus ja tootearendus. Koostasin ajajoone, milles võrdlesin maailmas toimuvat Signe eluetappidega. Tutvusin kliendi rõivastumisega läbi tema senise moe-elu. Õppisin kliendi eelistusi ja vajadusi tundma viies temaga läbi intervjuu. Vajalikku informatsiooni hankisin juurde ka internetist, sest tegemist on avaliku elu tegelasega. Sain teada, et Signe esimeseks ja suurimaks eeskujuks on tema kaunis ema, kes õmbles kõik riided ise. Moealasteks mõjutajateks peab Signe välismaiseid moe- ja filmiajakirju. Samuti Tallinna Moemaja suurejoonelisi moedemonstratsioone ja eriti stiilseid mannekeene. Lõputöös heitsin pilgu ka Tallinna Moemaja ning ajakiri “Silueti” ajaloole. Teise peatüki esimeses pooles uurisin disaineri ja kliendi suhet, kirjutasin lahti inspireerivad värvid, vormi ja stiili. Teises pooles keskendusin personaalkinnaste kollektsiooni loomisele.
Tehtud töö ja kogemustele lähtudes julgen väita, et oluline on klienti tundma õppida ja
luua tema elust koos ajahetkega tervikpilt. Ka väiksemgi detail võib olla tähenduslik ja mulle kui disainerile ideaalne inspiratsiooniallikas.
Kirjaliku töö allikad ja ajalooline taust aitasid aitasid luua kindakollektsioonile hea põhja. Sellest tulenevalt kasutasin julgeid värve mustaga luues kontraste ja huvitavaid lõikejooni.
Signe oli lõpptulemusega rahul. Loodan, et klient võtab minu loomingu igapäevasesse kasutusse, et oma niigi särtsakaid rõivaid veel omanäolisemaks muuta. Arvan, et kui klient on õnnelik, on ka eesmärk täidetud.

“I love contrasts,” Signe says. And she has a relationship with purple colour. It was one of her favourites long before she became the head of Academy of Arts. “I love combinations – purple, mustard yellow, sea green …”
This personalized hands-on thesis provides an overview of the collaboration between the designer and the client. It is an honor that my client was such an exciting and colorful character as Signe Kivi is. For me as a designer, it is useful for a well-known person to wear my product, because that way my product possibly reaches to more people.
The aim of this work was to study different stages of the design process: preliminary work, prototyping, development and product development. I compiled a timeline comparing the life periods in the world with Signe’s life. I researched client’s clothing through her life in fashion. I got to know the client’s preferences and needs by interviewing her. I also got the necessary information from the internet because she is a public figure. I learned that Signe’s first and greatest role model was her beautiful mother, who sewed all the clothes on her own. Childhood fashion was influenced by foreign fashion and film magazines. Also Tallinn Fashion House had great fashion shows and particularly stylish mannequins. At the end of the thesis I also researched the history of Tallinn Fashion House
and the magazine “Siluett”.
In the first part of the second chapter I explained the relationship between designer and client, discussed about inspiring colors, form and style. In the second half I focused on creating a personal collection.
Based on the done work and the experience I dare say that it is important to get to know the client and to create a complete picture of her life through the time. For me as a designer, even a smallest details can be meaningful and an ideal source of inspiration.
The sources of the written work and the historical background helped to create a good background for the glove collection. As a result, I used bold colors with black to create contrasts and interesting lines of cut.
Signe was happy with the end result. I hope that the customer will take my creations into everyday use in order to make her already brilliant clothes even more unique. I think that if the customer is happy the goal is fulfilled.
