Lõputöös uurin esteetika olemust vormis ning selle mõiste tähendust. Eesmärk on analüüsida, kas esteetilist ilu saab objektiivselt määratleda ja milliseid reegleid on võimalik selle kirjeldamiseks leida. Teema on oluline, kuna disainis tehakse pidevalt valikuid ilu ja funktsionaalsuse vahel, kuid ilu olemusest ja selle määratlemise võimalikkusest räägitakse vähe. Uuring põhineb teoreetilisel analüüsil ja disaini eksperimentidel.
Praktilises osas loon kolm erinevat vormi: üks esindab tehisliku ilu äärmust, teine orgaanilise ilu äärmust ning kolmas ühendab mõlema omadusi. Hääletuse tulemusel selgub, millist vormi peetakse ‘kõige ilusamaks’, ning selle põhjal valmib lõplik küünal.
In my final project, I explore the nature of aesthetics in form and the meaning of the concept itself. The aim is to analyse whether aesthetic beauty can be objectively defined and what kinds of rules can be identified to describe it. This topic is important because in design, choices are constantly made between beauty and functionality, yet the essence of beauty and the possibility of defining it are rarely discussed. The research is based on theoretical analysis and design experiments.
In the practical part, I create three different forms: one represents the extreme of artificial beauty, another the extreme of organic beauty, and the third combines characteristics of both. Based on the voting results, the form considered ‘the most beautiful’ will be used to create the final candle.
