„Siin on nii igav!“ ütlesid lapsed mulle, kui alustasin noorsootöö spetsialistina uues, 7–11-aastastele lastele loodud keskuses. Mõistsin, et ebasobiva keskkonna vastu puudub lastel huvi ja tegevus liigub keskusest välja kaubanduskeskustesse ning tänavatele. See on aga suur löök võrgustikutööle – just mängus peegelduvad lapse probleemid ja rõõmud. Inspireeriv keskkond võimaldab teha edukat ennetustööd. See ajendaski mind looma lastele sobivat mänguruumi, millesse neid on ekspertidena kaasatud.
Lõputöö kirjalikus osas käsitlen laste disainiprotsessi kaasamise printsiipe, avatud noortekeskuse põhimõtte ja avatud mängu teooria ühildamist. Lõputöö praktilises osas valmib ideekavand ning tekstiilesemed, mis hõlbustavad vabamängu.
“It’s so boring here!” the children told me when I started my job as a youth work specialist in a new center for children aged 7-11. I realized that the children have no interest in the unsuitable environment, and they spend their time in shopping malls and streets instead of the center. However, this is a big blow to networking – the children’s problems and joys are best reflected while playing. An inspiring environment enables successful preventive work. This motivated me to create a play space suitable for children, in which they have been included as experts.
In the written part of the final project, I discuss the principles of involving children in the design process, combining the principle of open youth center and the theory of open play. In the practical part of the final project, a concept design and textile items that facilitate free play are created.
