Lõputöö eesmärk oli anda ülevaade modulaarsusest ja mooduldisainist erinevates valdkondades: arhitektuuris, mööblidisainis, moetööstuses ja aksessuaarimaailmas ning kasutada moodulsüsteemi koti loomisel. Kirjaliku osa esimene peatükk koosneb teoreetilisest taustast, mis sisaldab näiteid moodultoodetest ja nende lühikirjeldusi.
Praktilises osas tegelen moodulsüsteemi loomisega ning näitan selle protsessi läbi katsetuste ja kirjelduste. Pärast süsteemi väljatöötamist selgitan koti vormi, värvi ja materjalivalikuid. Lõputöö protsessi käigus tutvusin modulaarusega ja erinevate moodultoodetega. Modulaarsuse põhimõte toetub süsteemile, mida saab osadeks võtta ja iga osa omab kindlat funktsiooni. Modulaarsus väljendub toodete puhul erinevalt, näiteks arhitektuuris majade transportimise näol, rõiva- ja aksessuaaridisainis saab vahetada ja lisada detaile. Modulaarsus on hea viis muuta tooted jätkusuutlikumaks tehes tooted mitmekülgsemaks.
Katkised või vanad osad saab välja vahetada ja seetõttu ei pea terviktoodet ära viskama.
Lõputöö tulemusena valmis modulaarne kotikomplekt „maria“, millel on kaheksa erinevat kandmisvõimalust. Kotte saab omavahel lahti võtta ja kokku panna, kanda seljakoti või käekotina. Lõpp-toote lisafunktsioon on selle kahtepidi kandmine, mis väljendub kottide värvieelistusel. Kliendil on tulevikus võimalik soetada kotte eraldi kui ka komplektina ja osaleda värvikombinatsiooni valimisel. Modulaarse kotikomplekti eesmärk on vähendada tarbimist võimaldades ühe toote näol mitmekülgsust, mängulisust ja mugavust. Kotikomplekt on esindatud 2021. aasta Estonian Fashion Festivali moeetendusel Mood-Performance-Tants.
The aim of the final project „Bag Set Based on Modular Technology“ was to explore modularity and its use in different fields – in architecture, in furniture design, in fashion industry and in accessory design. Also to use modular technology in a bag design. The written part consists of a theoretical background, which includes examples of modular
products and their brief descriptions. and in the practical part of the final project I create modular system, which is shown through experiments and analysis. After the system has been developed, the shape, color and material choices of the bag are described.
During the thesis process I was introduced to modularity and different modular products. The principle of modularity is based on a system that can be broken down and each part has a specific function. Modularity is expressed differently in products, for example in architecture in the form of transporting houses, in the design of clothing and accessories details can be exchanged and added. Modularity is a good way to make products more sustainable. Modularity adds diversity to products. In case of broken or old parts of the product, they can be replaced and therefore the whole product does not have to be discarded.
As a result of my final project, I created the modular bag set „maria“, which has eight different carrying options. The bags can be disassembled and assembled, carried as a backpack or handbag. An additional function of the final product is to carry it in both ways, which is expressed in the form of the color of the bags. In the future, the customer will be able to purchase the bags separately as well as as a set and participate in the choice of color combination. The purpose of the modular bag set is to reduce consumption by providing versatility, playfulness and comfort with the bags. The bag set is represented at the 2021 Estonian Fashion Festival fashion show Mood-Performance-Tants.
