Lõputöö teema on illustratsioon tumeda fantaasia žanris. Töö uurib postmodernistlikku fantaasia sub-žanri, mis sisaldab õuduse, gootika ja müstika elemente.
Lõputöö praktilise osana valmis digimaali tehnikas trükitud illustratsiooniseeria (3 teost). Lõputöö teoreetilises osas analüüsin žanri väljapaistvate autorite töid, annan ülevaate oma inspiratsiooniallikatest ning oma joonistamise protsessist.
Lõputöö ühendab seega kaks aspekti – ühelt poolt huvi illustratsiooni vastu ning teisalt viimasel ajal levima hakanud huvi tumeda fantaasia žanri vastu.
The subject of the final project is an illustration in the dark fantasy genre. The work explores the sub-genre of the postmodernist fantasy, which contains the elements of horror, gothic and mystics.
The practical part of the final project is an illustration series (three pieces) printed in digital painting technique. The theoretical part analyses the works of the authors eminent in this genre, and provides an overview about my sources of inspiration and my drawing process.
As a result, the final project combines two aspects – on one hand, the interest towards illustration and on the other hand, the recent interest towards the dark fantasy genre.
